Do you ever wonder if my style crushes every become a reality?  Well they do.  Especially when they are of the “can’t stop thinking about anything else” variety like last week’s post on leather skirts and cozy sweaters.  After the seemingly endless search for the perfect leather or faux leather skirts that I included in the round up, I finally landed on this one from Aritzia.  The faux leather is buttery soft and looks so real.  The fit is amazing and stretchy which means it needed no alterations and the length is perfect.

There’s something so chic about an all-black outfit.  And when you create so many texture variations, it goes from goth to gorgeous.  To make things better, this look has a retro-80s vibe that makes me think I can be Jamie Gertz in “Less Than Zero.”  Needless to say, this is quickly becoming my go-to outfit this fall (especially considering I’ve already worn it three times.  I’m serious.  Three times).

Skirt: Babaton / Sweater: Wilfred (Old. Similar steal here and splurge here 25% off with code GOSHOP) / Bag: Tory Burch (Old. Similar here.) / Booties: Vince Camuto / Tights: Spanx / Watch: Michael Kors / Bracelets: BCBG, H&M, J.Crew Factory (Old.  Similar here) / Necklace: Bar III

(I know this post is about a year old, but now that it’s fall again, I’m starting to see other pears bring out last year’s leather skirts so I decided to comment on the post above in case other pears come to this post seeking inspiration)

While you have a beautiful shape, I don’t think this particular pencil skirt was the best choice for it. The skirt looked too tight and was bunching up around your thighs, making me think of the “pulling down your skirt every five minutes” syndrome to which us pears fall victim when wearing too-tight pencil skirts. IMHO, an a-line leather skirt (think skater skirt…no pleats) would’ve been a better-looking (and more comfortable) choice.
