I realize that this was the coldest day of the week but it made me happy with thoughts of crisp days to come where layering is essential and cuddling doesn’t cause a heat stroke. It’s fall OFFICIALLY so I’ve transitioned my closet and shoes and am ready to go! The great thing about this time of year is wearing skirts with bare legs and the ease of transitioning some of your favorite pieces from late summer into fall with accessories.
You might remember this chambray dress from this post smack in the middle of summer. And here I am a few months and several degrees cooler later wearing it again. I threw on my favorite chunky cardigan, some booties and a cross-body bag (fresh from a trade I just made with my sister). Believe it or not, I’m even looking forward to throwing on a pair of tights with this ensemble as it gets colder. Bring on the chilly air, changing leaves and hot cider!!
Pear Shaped Pointer: It’s a misnomer to think a pear shaped girl or someone who is endowed in the leg area (and I don’t mean length) can’t rock a bootie with a skirt. That trend is totally doable when you have the right bootie like these. I love how the neutral color doesn’t cut off my legs and the shape elongates them even.
If you have well endowed (or as my dad likes to call them “athletic” calves), always go for a neutral or nude bootie. Make sure that the bootie doesn’t cut straight across but has a dip (think cowboy style). This will elongate your legs and make your calves appear less full.
