Did I mention I have a new favorite skirt that I wear whenever I can? Oh, I didn’t? Well let me introduce you to her. She’s faux leather and fabulous! I’ve dressed her up and am showing here how you can dress her down. This is the perfect look for a brunch date and what I’m probably wearing to brunch this weekend so say hi if you see a girl wearing this exact outfit. There are so many possibilities that I apologize in advance for the number of times you’ll see this beauty on the blog.
Do you ever wonder if my style crushes every become a reality? Well they do. Especially when they are of the “can’t stop thinking about anything else” variety like last week’s post on leather skirts and cozy sweaters. After the seemingly endless search for the perfect leather or faux leather skirts that I included in the round up, I finally landed on this one from Aritzia. The faux leather is buttery soft and looks so real. The fit is amazing and stretchy which means it needed no alterations and the length is perfect.
There’s something so chic about an all-black outfit. And when you create so many texture variations, it goes from goth to gorgeous. To make things better, this look has a retro-80s vibe that makes me think I can be Jamie Gertz in “Less Than Zero.” Needless to say, this is quickly becoming my go-to outfit this fall (especially considering I’ve already worn it three times. I’m serious. Three times).

I’m on the hunt to put together the perfect leather skirt + comfy sweater ensemble. It’s my current style crush and one I literally think about while falling asleep at night. I imagine the perfect fit for the skirt and the appropriate amount of cozy yet chic for the sweater and fall asleep walking my own virtual runway. There are so many ways to wear this look and various styles of skirt and sweater that fit the bill. I’m on the prowl for the most flattering fit and hope to share my final edit with you soon in the form of a photo spread. In the meantime, here are the looks I’m coveting now and will soon be trying on.
Pear Shaped Pointer: Don’t get too hung up on being all matchy-matchy with your shoes and leather skirt. In fact, go the opposite direction and purposely don’t match leathers. I like opting for either suede or fabric shoes. Look for something with texture or design elements. Or, go for a nude pump since nude always works!
