Caped Cruisader

I borrowed my friend’s cape the other day and I’m a little obsessed with it.  I paired it with a midi-pencil skirt, tights and a chiffon blouse for a work- or date-appropriate outfit.  It was so warm and cozy yet sophisticated – like wearing a really chic blanket to bundle yourself up in.  I am now on a quest to find my own version (and my very own Prada pumps like hers that I borrowed here).  I will definitely be pulling together a cape post soon!

When I walked into the office yesterday and saw Macey in this adorable outfit I immediately offered to buy here a Pumpkin Latte from Magnolia Bakery if she would agree to model for the blog.  Macey is a gorgeous 20-something who moved to NYC from SoCal a few months ago to work with me.  Don’t hate her for being young and smart and pretty and stylish.  After all, she’s also funny and humble too. (Okay, hate her a little bit.  Now get over it and love her.)

As the weather has cooled down, she is slowly starting to acquire more sweaters and work on transitioning her maxi-skirted, flip flop-anchored wardrobe into something that can sustain a Northeastern winter.  I think she nailed the transition here by pairing this adorable flirty skirt with tights, a cable-knit sweater and booties.  I love how she added saddle-colored booties with black tights for a youthful look.  And the sweater is only $29!!  Now it’s time to reevaluate my closet to keep up with this seriously cute outfit.

Sweater: Joe Fresh / Skirt: Mink Pink (Old.  Similar here and here.) / Tights: Uniqlo  / Shoes: Loft (In stores.  Similar here.) / Bag: Gorjana / Jewelry: All Gorjana –  Stud Cuff; Cross-Over Cuff; Callie Charm Bracelet; Teagan Ring; Stackable Rings

I guess you could say I am really into the moto trend right now.  Especially if you’ve read this post, or this one.  I love the way you can add a moto jacket to a skirt and make it both feminine and edgy.  So, for day two of the Lucky FABB conference last week I did just that.  I paired this amazing, and comfortable, moto jacket with a circle skirt, some tights and booties.  I added a red bag for a nice pop of color.  Girly with a bit of punk and super cute!
