This is my 100th post!  I can’t believe that I have shared this many outfit ideas, style crushes and trends I love with you.  It seems like just yesterday I was on vacation in Cape Cod plotting out my first 10 posts not even thinking about what it would take to get to 100.  Thank you to all of you who have been reading from the beginning, and to those of you who may have just joined the party.

Okay, now to the outfit…It’s starting to look a lot like winter here.  The leaves are quickly going from a beautiful rainbow of colors to cluttering the ground.  But recently, the weather hasn’t been that cold.  It’s perfect sweater weather which is my favorite.  I love being able to layer a sweater and jeans and throw on some booties with no need for a bulky jacket.  I’ve always wondered how to put my boyfriend jeans into the mix when the weather is like this.  Turns out, all you need is the perfect cuff and a great pair of booties.  And the biggest trick to the look – no socks!  At least not for this pear shape.  I am sure if you have twiggy legs, an adorable pair of patterned socks would suit this outfit perfectly.  It’s just not for me (hidden Pear Shaped Pointer here).

Mondays always seem to spring up on me way too fast.  It’s like I barely get the weekend glow when – BAM – it’s Monday again.  And just like a Monday, the cold weather is sprinting toward us here in the Northeast like an Olympian training for the 100-meter dash.  I feel the need to rock bare legs as often as possible before the chill overtakes us and forces me into my winter sleeping bag coat.

Here, I took the skirt from this post and turned it into a more casual look with a chambray shirt, belt and booties.  If you read this post, you know that I am a new fan of the bootie-with-skirt look.  I never thought I could wear it with my athletic calves.  But, with the right pair (here are some great options) it can be very flattering.  Hoping you get a few more bare leg days!

A Little Inspiration

About six months ago I was having a much-needed brunch with my girlfriends.  The “my-six-month-old-is-home-so-bring-on-the-mimosas” kind of brunch that ends with a belly ache from laughing and lots of catching up.  After that lunch, my friend, a fellow working mom, texted me a picture of herself and said “thank you for not making me have to think about what to wear today.”  Her toddler was tugging at her shirt – the same one I wore the day before along with similar jeans, flats and accessories.  It was then I realized I should revisit the idea of starting a fashion blog (or restarting the one I half-started five years ago).  And it was all because of one simple go-to outfit of mine.

Cut to now and my revised version of that outfit, fresh with a new (smaller!) chambray shirt, new (smaller!) black skinnies, a different necklace and some booties, just in time for fall.  It feels so good to have such a cute, easy, and even inspiring outfit to turn to when I don’t want to think about what to wear.  And it helps that this outfit aids others in not having to think about what to wear either!
