Black & White Stripes

It’s a veritable heat wave here!  With temperatures close to 70 degrees it is not feeling a lot like Christmas.  But it is feeling like a nice day to go to the playground so that’s what we did.  And I wore one of my favorite playground ensembles that takes me easily for a bite to eat on the way home.  I was happy to bring the boyfriend jeans out of the close and not have to bundle up in boots and socks.  But I’m ready for temps to go down and still holding out hope for a white Christmas!

Stripes & Flowers

I was meandering through Macy’s one day – typical for me since I can walk there from my apartment with the baby in tow and call it “exercise” – when I happened upon this dress.  Since I had the baby in tow I couldn’t try it on but I just knew it was going to be perfect.  The minute I zipped it up, I knew it was going to become my go-to dress.  It’s perfect for the following reasons:

1. The length is exactly right hitting just at my knee

2. The cinched waist and full skirt create a slender look by accentuating my slimmest body part

3. The wide stripe on the shoulders draws your attention up

4. It’s the perfect weight for the pre-fall weather we’ve been having in NYC and I can totally imagine wearing it in October with a pair of boots and a cardigan.

I paired it here with a statement necklace, nude sandals (of course) and a nude handbag.  Such an easy look that’s perfect for a day in the park, brunch, dinner with friends or even work!
